I guess I’ve never done a post about Napoleon Dynamite. The Director, Jared Hess, is mormon and the star Napoleon, Jon Heder, is also a mormon. I’m sure there are many other funny mormons in the cast. In fact, I’d say Kip, played by Aaron Ruell, is a very key and funny character in the movie. Aaron is also LDS. The film started as a short student film Jared made as a student at Brigham Young University. They decided to make a feature film and were able to get some backing from MTV. They debuted the film at The Sundance Film festival and ended up grossing over $44 million.

Jared Hess has gone on to co-write and direct Nacho Libre as well as a music video for a band I really like, The Postal Service. Another fun fact about this funny mormon is that he is 6 feet 5 inches tall (according to IMDb)
