Jon Schmidt – Love Story Meets Viva la Vida
Jon Schmidt is a Mormon performing artist. He plays the piano, but does more than that; he entertains his audience. I went to his concert last night and got a lot of laughs. He has funny songs (Dumb Song), high energy songs (All of Me, North Pole Express
In 2009 he arranged a remix of Love Story by Taylor Swift and Viva la Vida by Coldplay combined into one song called Love Story Meets Viva la Vida. It has become a hit on YouTube. He played it last night, but hasn’t worked out the legal details to play them both together in the concert so he had to stop and introduce the songs separately. He actually made it quite comical and it seemed like most of the audience had seen the Youtube video, so they knew how it sounds together.
I have included a video of Jon Schmidt playing Dumb Song taken by someone at a concert in London. He was wearing a bright red wig last night. He explained that in the wig there is a pad, so he won’t injure his head from hitting it against the piano so hard.
